To ensure a high quality service to its customers, the RTL offers a wide range of performing vehicles and equipment throughout the territory of the agglomeration de Longueuil.
Our network also provides connections between buses and other modes of passenger transportation such as trains and subway.
In a gradual manner, preferential bus measures (PBM) are being implemented across our network, for an even faster and more efficient service.
The RTL deploys 430 buses of various models, distributed in two operating centres located in Longueuil and Saint-Hubert.
With an objective of encouraging a sustainable mobility and the electrification of our network, since 2014, the renewal of our fleet of buses is carried out by the commissioning of vehicles with hybrid propulsion. An ecological initiative that contributes to promoting the well-being of citizens of the Agglomeration of Longueuil.

Hybrid buses in service now make up approximately 31% of our fleet, and represent a significant advance in the electrification of the network. Since 2019, the models offer air conditioning for increased comfort in summer. In addition, the "Stop & Start" technology allows the complete shutdown of the diesel engine when the vehicle comes to a stop. This has the effect of further reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and contributing to the reduction of noise in urban areas.

Throughout the network, there are 3,394 bus stops and 704 of those stops feature a bus shelter. Just like buses, bus shelter models evolve due to new trends and new technologies. Whether it is materials or design, bus shelters are changing in order to offer customers more comfort and maximum safety. Public transport usage data compiled at a specific location will determine where to install a bus shelter. In view of the fact that the equipment is costly, we usually install these bus shelters where a maximum of customers will benefit. |
|||
The decision to install a bus shelter also depends on the physical configuration of the eventual site.
Bus shelters are installed on the city’s property. It is therefore up to the city to decide of the exact location.
|
|||
Upon receipt of the request, the city will proceed with the required analysis and will accept or reject the request according to predetermined criteria (feasibility, by-laws, town planning, etc.). If the request is accepted, the RTL will then receive an authorization from the city to install the bus shelter. A bus shelter is an equipment that serves the population. It is up to each and everyone to respect it and to report any act of vandalism and hindrance to the safety of its users. You can either report it to the Service de police de l’agglomération de Longueuil at 450 463-7011 or to our Customer Service team at 450 443-0131. |
