Longueuil, January 22, 2015 – In partnership with the Réseau de transport de Longueuil (RTL), Moovit is officially launching its application in Québec. Already present in some 500 cities in 45 countries and available in 31 different languages, Moovit has over 15 million users worldwide. RTL and public transit users throughout metropolitan Montréal can now enjoy the benefits of this free community-based app that will significantly enhance their public transit experience.

Available on most smart phones and tablets, the Moovit app has everything users need to get around by public transit quicker, easier, and smarter. By combining transit company data with real-time information from users, Moovit sends riders suggestions on the fastest and least crowded routes. Its success lies in its participative approach: the more riders who use and input data to the application, the more relevant and accurate it becomes, thus making it an invaluable tool for public transit users throughout Québec.

“This innovative agreement aims to transform the passenger experience. Riders are encouraged to download the app and share information with other users, thus generating real-time data on route and network conditions,” stated Colette Éthier, Chair of the Board of Directors of the Réseau de transport de Longueuil.

“We are very proud of this strategic partnership—the first of its kind in Canada—which will give millions of public transit users instant access to this leading edge technology on a daily basis. In fact, as a major public transit company in the metropolitan Montréal area, the RTL aims to increasingly promote innovative digital solutions to its clients, something we are very pleased to assist them with,” stated Pierre Valentin, Country Manager France and French speaking countries for Moovit.

Moovit is already present in ten major cities across Canada, including Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Toronto, Kingston, Montréal, Québec City, Victoria, Kelowna, and Halifax. The exponential growth of the Moovit community across Canada has garnered high praise for the app.
