DÉFI SANS AUTO SOLO
Longueuil, September 3, 2015 – An important player in the public transit sector in the Agglomération de Longueuil, the Réseau de transport de Longueuil (RTL) is proud to promote sustainable methods of transportation by encouraging its employees and citizens to take on the Défi sans auto solo, on Wednesday, September 16, 2015. The RTL is also urging companies and institutions within the Agglomération to follow suit by encouraging their staff and students to use public transit to get around.
“By participating in the Défi, we are reaffirming the commitment we made in our Vision d’ensemble 2013-2022 to promote a better quality of life for all, specifically by contributing to the improvement of air quality. When it comes to this fun activity, everyone is a winner!,” declared Colette Éthier, Chair of the RTL Board of Directors.
The data collected during last year’s challenge show a reduction of 14.7 tons of greenhouse gas emissions in just one day. Participants have their choice of several transportation methods: public transit, of course, as well as carpooling, cycling, rollerblading, walking, or a combination of sustainable methods.
To participate, register before September 16 at www.defisansauto.com.
The Réseau de transport de Longueuil is the main transit provider for individuals within the five cities that comprise the Agglomération de Longueuil.
