RTL budget adopted

Longueuil, Thursday, December 18, 2014 – At the public meeting held on December 11, the Agglomération de Longueuil council adopted the 2015 budget for the Réseau de transport de Longueuil (RTL), which amounts to approximately $164 million, a 1.92% increase compared to 2014. Note that the Agglomération de Longueuil’s contribution has been set at $73.6 million for 2015.

Given the recent cuts in operating expenses and in order to respond to the government guidelines that encourage the use of innovation solutions to optimize service offers, RTL is determined to meet the expectations and changing needs of its users through the strict management of its resources. As such, RTL has begun a review of the various ways in which it offers its services.

“Investment projects will continue on track, in particular the passenger information system (PIS), the new Accès application for adapted transport, the new operating centre, and the implementation of a rapid transit network for the Agglomération, which should ultimately improve service within the territory of Longueuil. These projects will allow us to better plan for the future and thus better meet the transport needs of our users. To achieve the budget objectives without affecting our clientele, we plan to do things differently—do better with the resources available to us,” stated Colette Éthier, Chair of the Board of Directors of the Réseau de transport de Longueuil.
