The RTL will offer free bus service on december 24th and 31st.
Longueuil, November 2nd, 2012 - At their public meeting held November 1st, 2012, members of the Board of Directors of the Réseau de transport de Longueuil (RTL) adopted a resolution to offer, throughout its territory, free bus service, including the paratransit service, on Christmas Eve and on New Year’s Eve.
Each year, since 2003, the RTL invites its customers to make a donation on December 24th and 31st when the bus service is free. All the monies collected go to an organization dedicated to improve the quality of life of residents living on its territory. This year, the donations will be given to the Association des usagers du transport adapté de Longueuil (AUTAL).
Founded in 1981, AUTAL is an organization that has for mission to defend and promote the rights and interests of the disabled who use the RTL’s paratransit service.
“The RTL is pleased to offer, again this year, free bus service to the Longueuil agglomeration citizens two days during the holiday season, December 24th and 31st. As is the tradition, we invite commuters to make a donation when boarding our buses during those two days. This year, it will be our pleasure to donate the monies collected to one of our loyal partners, the Association des usagers du transport adapté de Longueuil (AUTAL)”, declared Caroline St-Hilaire, Chairman of the RTL’s Board of Directors and Mayor of Longueuil.
